SoCal SQL Saturday - Call for Speakers

SQL Saturday is a training event for SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL Server. This event will be held on April 24th, 2010 at Golden West College, 15744 Goldenwest St, Huntington Beach, CA 92647-3197. Admittance to this event is free, but we do charge a lunch fee of 10.00 so that we can provide a lunch - not pizza! As a speaker though, your lunch is free as a "Thank You" for being a speaker.

The success of SQL Saturday depends on the effort of our volunteer speakers. Do you have a passion for SQL Server? Want to share your knowledge and experience with your fellow members? Sign up as a Speaker for SQL Saturday. You do not have to be a professional speaker, just a topic and passion to share that knowledge with your fellow community members.

So come out and be a speaker at SQL Saturday. Submit your session on the Call for Speakers page here: http://www.sqlsaturday.com/44/callforspeakers.aspx

If you have any questions feel free to contact Andrew Karcher at akarcher@gmail.com. We look forward to having you as a speaker.

SoCal Code Camp fun facts

This weekend I attended the 11th SoCal Rock & Roll Code Camp.
Here are some fun facts:
- It was the 5th Code Camp held in Fullerton. Another 4 took place in La Jolla and 2 more in Los Angeles. Mark Rosenberg and I participated in each of them.
- I gave 6 presentations and attended 76 sessions by 38 different presenters.
- Overall I spent a combined 161 hours across 20 days at Code Camp.
- I won 3 software licenses and 5 books in the raffles. Thanks to all the sponsors I also got countless t-shirts and other swag.

11th SoCal Code Camp

I won an Altova MapForce license for being one of the few people who went to all 11 SoCal Code Camps. Mark Rosenberg was the only other person who went to all of them and was present at the time of the raffle.
