SQL Server 2008 Express is available
Microsoft just released the first version of SQL Server 2008 Express. This version doesn't include the management tools nor the advanced services. Versions that include those features should be available soon. You can download it here.

SQL Server 2008 has been released
Microsoft released SQL Server 2008 to manufacturing on August 6th. Their press release contains more details.
